Thugs Of Hindostan Box Office Collection Week 2: Earnings of Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan Movie Decline
The movie has in total earned Rs 145.95 crore in the domestic circuit.
The coming together of two big stars does not necessarily spell success for a movie, as can be seen from the Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan. The movie, which had received mixed reviews from the audience when it released, is now not doing so good at the box office and as per an expert, it will struggle to stay afloat on weekdays. It managed to earn Rs 5.55 crore in its second weekend, bringing the total to Rs 145.95 crore in the domestic circuit.
The movie, which was written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, and produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films, also starred Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Lloyd Owen among others.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who had earlier wrote that the movie was disappointing, tweeted out the movie’s earnings in the second week, and stated that after a bad first week, Thugs Of Hindostan has gone downhill and from being screened on 5000 screens it has now been reduced to just 1800 screens. The numbers is the second week, he wrote, are disastrous.
After a dismal *extended* Week 1, #ThugsOfHindostan went further downhill in Weekend 2… Sure, the decline was imminent, but, in this case, it’s a CRASH… Reduced to 1800 screens in Week 2 [5000 screens in Week 1], #TOH will struggle to stay afloat on weekdays…

The movie, set in 1795, about a band of thugs that take on the British East India Company and tries to free India from its grip, got much attention before its release, but most who have watched it say that it is engrossing only in the first hour and after that it was a boring affair. Some, however, have come to the defence of the movie, asking for it to be given a chance.
