Tiger Shroff who will be seen in Student of The Year 2 has reportedly turned down an offer to play the second fiddle in Karan Johar’s next with Ranveer Singh. Recent reports suggested that Ranveer has signed for Karan’s upcoming film and Tiger was reportedly approached to play the second lead in the film which he politely turned down. It has also been reported that Tiger did not want to play the second fiddle to Singh. At the same time, Tiger is doing a two-hero film with Hrithik Roshan, directed by Siddharth Anand, where both the actors have equal footing.
Tiger and Ranveer are currently busy working on their own projects. Ranveer, with the shooting of Simbaa and Tiger, with Student of The Year 2. SOTY2 shooting has already been started and the team was in Dehradun for two straight months and are pretty excited for their film. Ranveer has a long line up for this year with Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, Kapil Dev’s biopic ’83 and an untitled period film with Karan if the reports turn out to be true. While Gully Boy will be releasing on February 14, 2019, Kabir Khan’s ’83, a biopic on Kapil Dev is said to release on August 30, 2019. Tiger, on the other hand, is working on SOTY2 where he will be seen alongside Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey. The film is said to release in November this year.
Gully Boy is inspired by Mumbai street rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy. The film revolves around the life of these two rappers whose work includes rapping about the crime in their neighbourhood and becoming activists through their music. The film is shot in different parts of Mumbai and for the first time, Ranveer will be seen rapping for the movie. The actor has attended rapping workshops and has trained with real-life street rappers.
