Total Dhamaal Box Office Collection Day 13: Ajay Devgn’s Movie Still Going Strong, Mints Rs 130 Crore
Total Dhamaal is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office.
Total Dhamaal, starring Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and a host of others, is continuing its winning streak at the box office. The movie has so far minted a total of Rs 130 crore after earning Rs 3 crore on its thirteenth day. The film, which had grossed Rs 200 crore worldwide in twelve days, has become the third highest grossing Bollywood film of 2019.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the movie is doing very well in mass circuits and single screens, and still going strong at tier-2 cities. The movie is performing pretty well overseas too.
#TotalDhamaal is holding very well in mass circuits/single screens… Metros [multiplexes] have slowed down, while Tier-2 cities are strong… [Week 2] Fri 4.75 cr, Sat 7.02 cr, Sun 11.45 cr, Mon 6.03 cr, Tue 3.20 cr, Wed 3 cr. Total: ? 130 cr. India biz.

Directed and co-produced by Indra Kumar, the movie is the third installment of the Dhamaal film series and is a sequel to 2011’s Double Dhamaal. It had got off to a good start at the box office when it was released on February 22, minting Rs 16.50 crore. The movie, which is all about chasing money, is a slapstick comedy loosely borrowed from 1963 Hollywood film It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
Earlier, commenting on critics usually calling films like Total Dhamaal ‘brainless’, Ajay told PTI, “I don’t know why they say it is brainless. It is not easy to make people laugh. Today in our country or all over the world, comedians are the biggest stars. Like here in India, we have Kapil Sharma. It needs intelligence to make people laugh, you just can’t make faces and make people laugh.”
Total Dhamaal is expected to earn well at the box office with competition set to come only from Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu’s movie Badla, which is set to be released on March 8, 2019. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Badla is a suspense thriller.
