Total Dhamaal is the third film in the popular Dhamaal franchise by director Indra Kumar. The earlier two films were hit and featured Ajay in the titular roles. In the new one, while Madhuri is in the lead female role, actor Esha Gupta is also a part of the film. The film is also reuniting Madhuri and Anil after a hiatus of 19 years, post-Pukar (2000).
Apart from the main cast, actor Sonakshi Sinha has also got a special appearance in the film. She will be seen in a dance number, a remake of popular song Mugda, with Ajay. The song was originally picturised on Helen in 1971 Hindi film Inkar. Talking about it earlier, Sonakshi told Mumbai Mirror, “It has the potential of becoming a chartbuster again. The makers are shooting it on a lavish scale, making everything larger than life. I am super excited about it”.
Total Dhamaal was slated to hit the screens on December 7, 2018. Talking about the delay in its release date, Jaaved Jaaferi told E Times, “There are lots of special effects in it and it was consuming a lot of time. Makers also felt that if they release the film in December then it wouldn’t be nice for the film as there are some big releases in that month and they didn’t want to compromise on anything that is the reason why they shifted it to February next year”. The film is now releasing on February 22.
