What Uri has earned on Friday in its week 4 is what the new release Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has earned on its opening day.

The film is going from strength to strength at the ticket window despite the release of two anticipated films – Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Thackeray. Uri’s success also lies in the fact that it has resonated with the audience’s recollection of an event that happened recently. The film has been liked by both the audience and the critics alike. It’s a fictionalised account of the retaliation taken out by the Indian Army for the 2016 Uri attack, was also declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh with CM Yogi Adityanath lauding it.

“This is a movie on the surgical strikes, the cabinet has decided to exempt it from state GST. This film is about the country’s valour and will instill a feeling of nationalism and patriotism… This will help youth and all citizens of the country to see it,” he had said.
