Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma have finally wrapped up for their upcoming film Sui Dhaaga – Made in India. The two will be seen on screen together for the very first time in their long career of acting. They play the role of a small town couple – Mauji, a tailor and Mamta, an embroider. Varun’s role in the film is inspired by the comic character Supandi. Varun told news agency IANS, “I love reading Suppandi. I used to read that a lot during my childhood. Even the characters I do, like right now I am playing this character of a tailor Mauji in Sui Dhaaga…there is more to him than just being a tailor as he is a peon in a shop as well. Mauji is very inspired by Suppandi.” “I read a lot of biographies… I’ve read one on Dev Anand,” he added. On working in Sui Dhaaga he had earlier told IANS that, “I really liked the script Sharat Katariya had written and I am happy that I am teaming up with YRF on this movie. Anushka and I are teaming up for the first time so I am sure there will be fireworks.”

The film is directed by Dum Laga Ke Haisha’s Sharat Katariya and produced by Yash Raj Films. It will hit theatres on September 28.
