Actor Varun Dhawan has nothing but praise for his Kalank co-star Alia Bhatt, and he has said so as much in a post he shared on social media. Kalank, a period drama film directed by Abhishek Varman, was conceptualised by Karan Johar and his father Yash Johar around fifteen years ago. Announcing the wrap up of the movie, Varun, who has starred with Alia in a number of movies before, said that the audience will be blown away with her acting. Taking to Instagram, Varun shared a picture of the two of them from the movie and captioned it, “Wrapped @abhivarman motion picture #KALANK last night. It’s my 4th film with @aliaabhatt wow and it always feels like it’s new. She’s amazing in the film but one thing she’s done great is run very well and I’m proud of her lol. Varun and Alia had made their Bollywood together in Karan Johar’s 2012 directorial Student of The Year. The two then went on to star in the Dulhania series – Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017).

Kalank, which was produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studios, will also star Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Kunal Khemu, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. Late actress Sridevi had initially been signed for the character role that is being played by Madhuri.

The film, which is scheduled for release on April 19, 2019, will have music composed by Pritam.
