Kader Khan Passes Away: Coolie No. 1 to Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, a Look Back at His Most Memorable Performances
Kader Khan died after a prolonged illness at a hospital in Toronto in Canada
Veteran actor Kader Khan passed away at the age of 81 after a prolonged illness in Toronto, Canada. According to Ahmed Khan, a close relative, he died around 4 a.m. (IST). He said the last rites will be held in a Toronto cemetery later in the day. Kader was one of the most versatile actors of the Hindi cinema who gave many blockbuster films. He performed in more than 300 movies in his around 46 years of cinematic career. The actor made his debut with 1973 film, Daag and then took up many challenging roles. The Hindi cinema has lost one of his finest gems.
From making the audience laugh with his comic timing to leaving a mark with his acting, it is hard to decide which of his performance was better. Have a look back at his most memorable films:
Dulhe Raja
The film featured Govinda and Raveena Tandon in crucial roles. Kader played the role of Raveena’s father in the movie. He made cinema lovers laugh with his performance and his chemistry with Govinda was liked by everybody.
Coolie No.1
Kader and Govinda have worked together in many films. This movie also featured Karisma Kapoor. In it, Kader played the role of a father who wants his daughter to get married to the richest guy.
Haseena Maan Jaayegi
In it, Kader played the role of Govinda and Sanjay Dutt’s father. He aced the role and people loved his bonding with the other two actors. The movie was directed by David Dhawan.
Saajan Chale Sasural
Along with impressing with his acting, Kader also wrote dialogues of this film. It also featured Tabu, Govinda, Karisma in Crucial roles.
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi
This is one of the most memorable roles of his career. Kader made everybody laugh with his performance. The movie also featured Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in crucial roles.
He worked as a screenwriter in films like Ganga Jamuna Saraswati, Sharaabi, Desh Premee, Coolie and more. The actor wrote dialogues as well for films like Mr. Natwarlal, Khoon Pasina, Hum, Agneepath etc.
Earlier, Kader’s death rumours were doing the rounds. However, his friend Fauzia Arshi rubbished it and even stated that the veteran actor is upset that nobody from the industry bothered to see him.
Fauzia talked to Dainik Bhaskar and said, “When he fell ill he couldn’t digest the fact that nobody from the industry turned up to take care of him or even show support. He told me, ‘Nobody even came to see me’. I just hope that he gets a speedy recovery”.
