After much hullabaloo around its male lead, Saare Jahaan Se Achcha seems to have finally gotten its hero. As reported by PeepingMoon, the producers of Saare Jahaan Se Accha, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur have locked Vicky after his tremendously appreciated performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike that is still running in theatres across the country.
The report mentioned that Vicky had nothing to say no to when Ronnie proposed to him the script of the film considering the producer gave the actor his first heavy claim to fame in Uri. Vicky has reportedly started preparing for his role in the film and the shoot will begin once his team has sorted his dates for the film.
The portal quoted a source close to the development saying, “Vicky was the ultimate choice after Shah Rukh opted out. Ronnie has given him his career’s biggest commercial hit in Uri and there’s no way Vicky could have said no, especially for a big-budget film like Saare Jahaan Se Achcha.”
Notably, Aamir Khan was the first choice to play the lead role in the film. However, he recommended SRK’s name for it. While everything was happening as scheduled, the speculations surfaced regarding King Khan stepping out of the film following Zero’s failure at the Box Office. It is believed that the actor didn’t want another space film for his career after the Aanand L Rai-directorial couldn’t create an impact.
Well, Vicky is indeed a stupendous choice!
