Know the story behind Dhadak's peppy track Zingaat
After treating us with Dhadak’s title track, the makers have released the second song titled Zingaat today. Composers Ajay- Atul have recreated the popular Marathi dance number from Sairat by the same name and we definitely can’t get over it. Written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the peppy track shows the film’s leading actors Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter dancing their heart out. From showing his cool dance moves to flirting with Janhvi, Ishaan has won our hearts with this peppy track.
While addressing the media, during the song launch event, Ishaan shared the story behind the choreography of Zingaat and said that he is a huge fan of the original version of the song. He said, “The idea behind Zingaat was that we will not practice much for the song except for the hook steps. We were asked to dance freely to capture the true essence of the song.” He added, “Zingaat is a very important song for our film Dhadak. I am very happy that I got the chance to perform on this track. I am a big fan of the original version of the song. I loved what Amitabh Bhattacharya has done with the lyrics. I am sure that audience will love the song.” ”
There is a universal appeal to Zingaat as people from all walks of life can enjoy this peppy track. Both me and Janhvi have tried our best to do justice to our characters in the song,” adds Ishaan.

Meanwhile, its is said that Karan Johar was keen on roping in lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya to pen the lyrics of the Hindi version. The lyricist has time and again mentioned how challenging the experience was. During a media interaction, he said, “The Marathi song was released in the recent past and is still fresh in the minds of people. It has also achieved cult status. There was no point replacing the word Zingaat, so I retained the word and rewrote the rest of the song in Hindi. I made sure that the fun element was intact. I hope people give this version as much love as the Marathi one.”
