Starkids or not, everyone has their own destiny. There is no surprise about how people who come from families of actors have a better stepping stone in terms of accessibility, however, your talent and dedication cannot take your success away. In the past few year, several star kids tried their luck in acting even after making big banner debut, but are struggling to find that loyal fanbase. This is the story one such star kid who comes from a line of actors from bother paternal and maternal side but is still waiting for her name to fame moment.
The actress has done a handful of movies, OTT content and a television serial. However, none of it was a commercial success. Her name is Sanah Kapur. With acting running in her blood, she is not always seeking the limelight. Sanah Kapur is the daughter of veteran actor Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak. She is the step-sister of Shahid Kapoor.
Sanah Kapur made her debut with Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Shaandaar (2015) which tanked at the box office. The movie also featured Pankaj Kapur, Sanjay Kapoor and was produced by Karan Johar.
Both her parents are legendary actors who have made a place for themselves in the hearts of every generation. Pankaj Kapur’s ‘Office Office’ to films and Supriya Pathak’s character of ‘Hansa’ has become a pop culture reference. Kapur’s maternal aunt, Ratna Pathak, is a famous Indian actress too who is remembered for her show ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’. She was last seen in Dhak Dhak released in 2023.
In an 2022 interview with Filmfare, Sanah Kapur shared about her family dynamics. Talking about her parents body of inspirational work she revealed why she does not watch all of their movies despite the phenomenal acting. “And I know that as an artiste, I’m supposed to be able to disconnect and be like hey, this is a performance, I know because I’m also performing but I think as a kid I can’t. I just feel too much, and then I don’t want to watch my parents suffer that way, even if it’s in a film. I think that almost all of their work is amazing,” she said. Kapur also mentioned she shares a bond with Shahid Kapoor where they catch up casually hardly talking about work.
After her debut Sanah Kapur was seen on screen in 2018 ‘Khajoor Par Atk’e, then in Ramprasad Ki Tervi’ in 2019. In a collective list of seven project, Kapur was unable to fetch a hit to her name. Few years ago, Sanah Kapur tied the knot with Mayank Pahwa, who also hails from a filmy background. His parents are Seema Pahwa and Manoj Pahwa who themselves are Bollywood veterans often seen in side roles or as supporting cast who leave a lasting impact.
Despite no hits to her name, Sanah Kapur fared well in introducing herself to the audience in her debut.
