Cancel Salman Khan’s bail for supporting a convict: BJP

Mumbai BJP president met the governor of Maharashtra and submitted a letter requesting him to cancel Salman's bail

Mumbai, July 26: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has landed himself in a thick soup when he posted a series of tweets early Sunday, supporting 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon, who is scheduled to be hanged on July 30. Now, BJP has demanded that Salman’s bail be revoked for his irresponsible tweets.

Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar today met the governor of Maharashtra Vidyasagar Rao and submitted a letter requesting him to cancel the bail granted to Salman Khan in the drunk driving case, which lead to the death of one person. ”I submitted a letter to the Governor requesting cancellation of bail of convicted Salman Khan for supporting a convict,” Shelar told PTI. The BJP MLA also went on a rant about the issue on microblogging site Twitter about the issue. One of his tweets read ”Very disappointing to see Salman Khan ask for release of Yakub Memon. His (Salman’s) bail should be cancelled on the basis of the support for crime.” The MLA also called Salman ‘a fool’ in one of his tweets! The actor has faced strong criticism over the tweets where he argued that it would be unfair to hang Yakub Memon when his brother and the prime convict in the case, Tiger Memon is still at large. Salman went as far as to say in one tweet that hanging Yakub would be anti-human!
