On the professional front, Akshay Kumar has commenced shooting for Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re, featuring him opposite Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush K Raja. As reported earlier, the film is a love story set in two eras and Sara will be seen romancing both Akshay and Dhanush.

It was also rumoured that Akshay doesn’t feature in a full-fledged role but in a cameo in the film. However, Rai said the actor has got a ‘very special character who is important to the narrative.’ Akshay is also on-board as one of the producers of the film which that highlights the North-South cultures. Sara has got a sort of double role in the film and there are two stories running parallel.

The film is set in the heartland of the country and will be shot in Bihar and Madurai. However, the screenplay follows a non-linear narrative of two romantic relationships set in two different timelines. Atrangi is being shot on a start-to-finish stretch for about 80-90 days. The romantic flick slated to hit the screens on Valentine’s Day in 2021.
