There’s no doubt that Pritam is one of the most talented music directors in the country today. His songs from the movies, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Dangal, to name a few, bear testimony to this fact. And now the talented artiste has done it again with the songs of Salman Khan‘s much awaited movie, Tubelight.
After churning out beautiful songs like Tu Jo Mila and Tu Chahiye from Kabir Khan and Salman Khan’s previous blockbuster collaboration, Bajrangi Bhaijan, Pritam has pushed the bar even higher this time with Tubelight’s diverse album. The audience has already started loving the wide variety of songs that the album has to offer. Whether a happy number like Radio, or a soul-stirring track like Tinka Tinka Dil Mera, the album has it all.
Ask Pritam about his experience and he will say that it is perhaps the most challenging album he has composed till date. Speaking about it to DNA, the talented artiste said, “The songs in Tubelight are very situational and the situations were bigger than the song. Given that the film is set against the background of the 1962 Indo-Sino War, Pritam had to ensure that the melodies and notes from the era were retained in all his compositions. “I couldn’t use modern notes while composing the songs. Also they couldn’t be macho or cool because of the character Salman plays in the film.The actor plays a character who is sweet and cute and the music had to be such too,” he said.
It must have indeed been very challenging for Pritam to bring forth the emotions shared between two brothers so effortlessly in the songs.
