CONFIRMED: Aamir Khan’s Rakesh Sharma biopic will be called Saare Jahan Se Acha

Aamir Khan is clearly on the film signing spree. After Dangal, he will appear in a cameo role in Advait Chauhan’s Secret Superstar. After which he has signed on Yash Raj Films’ Thugs of Hindostan. He has been sporting a bearded look for the same lately. Now, as reported by DNA, he will work on the biopic on India’s first astronaut Rakesh Sharma and the movie is titled Saare Jahan Se Accha. Judging by the title, the movie will have a nationalist fervour attached to it.

The daily also confirmed that Thugs will release in Diwali 2018 post which the perfectionist will start work on this biography. Incidentally, there was another title being considered for the movie, it was called Salute but the makers zeroed in to Saare Jahan Se Accha because it works better. For the initiated, When the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi asked Rakesh Sharma upon landing on the moon as to how he see earth, he replied, ‘Saare Jahaan Se Acha’! A source told DNA, “Aamir has already shot for a special character in his manager Advait Chauhan’s Secret Superstar. Right after Dangal, he starts work on YRF’s Thugs of Hindostan with Amitabh Bachchan that releases on Diwali 2018. And he’s already signed the Rakesh Sharma biopic which will roll on right after he completes Thugs. Since it’s a biopic on the astronaut’s life, the team wanted a name that will not only suit the biographical film but also have a patriotic feeling attached.
