Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited release Coolie, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is facing a steady dip in its weekday box office performance. However, the Tamil action thriller has managed to cross Rs 200 crore in India and Rs 400 crore worldwide, cementing its status as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025, despite a tough competition from Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2.
The film is in its second week now, and has seen a major decline in its thirteenth-day run. As per early estimates by trade portal Sacnilk, Coolie collected approximately Rs 1.1 crore on its second Tuesday. With the current figure, the film’s total Indian net collection now has officially surpassed the Rs 250 crore mark, reaching approximately Rs 261.7 crore.
Total Box Office Collection (13 Days): ₹261.7 crore
In the first week, Coolie saw a total collection of Rs 229.65 crore, with the highest earnings from the Tamil version at Rs 149.95 crore, followed by Telugu at Rs 51.6 crore, Hindi at Rs 26.05 crore, and Kannada at Rs 2.05 crore.
While Coolie is leading ahead of War 2, which is still playing in theatres, it has also surpassed other big releases like Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava (USD 6.4 million) and Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda starrer Saiyaara (USD 6 million) in North America alone, grossing USD 6.60 million in just 9 days.
Coolie has also surpassed the lifetime business of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s previous blockbuster Vikram, which had minted Rs 247 crore net in India.
Apart from Rajinikanth, Coolie also stars Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Upendra in pivotal roles, along with a cameo appearance by Aamir Khan.
