New Delhi: As the world continues to fight coronavirus, Bollywood, meanwhile seems to be wasting no time to cash in on the opportunity by grabbing the word ‘corona’ for their future movie titles. According to a report in The Times of India, Eros International has already registered the title ‘Corona Pyaar Hai’, giving a twist to Hrithik Roshan’s 2000 hit Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. Producer Krishika Lulla confirmed the news saying, “Currently the scripting is going on. The subject (of the epidemic) is going to be set in a love story. Currently, we are fine tuning the script and are waiting for things to subside, as things have come to a standstill now. Another film body, The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association also confirmed that they have been approached by producers to register titles based on the coronavirus like ‘Deadly Corona’.

Well, such a trend is not new as in the past too, filmmakers have rushed to register movies whenever such an opportunity arises. Soon after the abrogation of Article 370, movie titles such as Kashmir Hamara Hai and Dhara 370 and Dhara 35A were registered by filmmakers.



Meanwhile, the global pandemic has badly hit Bollywood and the industry now stands to lose around Rs 800 crore due to delay in releases and shooting schedule. Film events, awards shows and upcoming films such as Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi and YRF’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar have postponed their release indefinitely in the wake of the health crisis.
