With over 2,000 cases and around 68 deaths due to pandemic coronavirus, many celebrities have come forward to contribute their part to fight COVID-19. Now, joining the bandwagon are power couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. The most-sought couple took to Instagram to announce their contribution to the PM-CARES Fund but has not revealed the amount. The statement reads, “In times, like these, every bit counts. We humbly pledge to contribute to the PM-CARES FUND and hope that you will too. We’re all in this together, and we shall overcome. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan has announced to donate in various charitable organisations,  PM CARES Fund, Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) for Healthcare Providers, Ek Saath – the earth foundation, Roti Foundation, The Working People’s Charter and support for acid attack survivors to help fight the war against pandemic COVID-19. As per the reports, he is contributing ₹2.5-5cr approximately to PPE, food to 5,500 families which costs Rs10 crore (with Ek Saath), 300,000 Meal Kits which costs Rs 10 crore (with Roti Foundation), Essential & Grocery to Daily Wagers costing Rs 1 crore, Acid Attack Survivor Stipend aamounting Rs 10 lakh per month, Donation to PM Care & CM Care.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced 21-days of complete lockdown till April 14 in order to combat pandemic COVID-19. So far, India has recorded over 2,902 cases and 68 people have died due to coronavirus, as of April 4.

Meanwhile, on April 3 Narendra Modi addressed the nation and urged citizens to light up candle and diyas for 9 minute at 9 PM on April 5 to ‘end the darkness’ created by coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic.
