Actor Deepika Padukone kick-started the year with a beautiful performance in her film Chhapaak that was based on the real-life story of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. While the film didn’t generate the kind of Box Office response it was expected to, Deepika appeared honest and powerful in her performance on screen. The Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards 2020 honoured the same beauty in her performance at an event on Tuesday evening. The actor received the trophy for Being The Most Powerful Performer of The Year and later dedicated the award to Laxmi and all other acid-attack survivors who decided to never give up. In a lovely post made on Instagram, Deepika wrote how Chhapaak would always remain close to her heart. Deepika mentioned Laxmi and others for showing ‘what beauty really means’. Deepika dolled up for the show in a gorgeous black plunging ensemble. It was an outfit designed by Paris-based designer Yanina. The actor styled her look with a lot of diamond jewellery, brown eye makeup and nude lips. She made a striking appearance at the red carpet of the awards ceremony. The actor was joined by the likes of Anushka Sharma, Ananya Panday, Katrina Kaif, Kartik Aaryan, Radhika Madan, Kubra Sait, Alaya F, Aditi Rao Hydari and Urvashi Rautela among others.
