Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor announce Dhadak release date with a new poster

Oh what a month it is turning out to be in Bollywood! Mid-January and we have so many new and revised release dates of upcoming projects that it is becoming difficult to keep tab. After Padmaavat and Padman averted a clash, we hear that now Aiyaary might get preponed from February 9 release and come out on January 26, clashing with Padmaavat instead of Padman. And now, we have a new poster of Dhadak – starring Bollywood debutants Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor with a new release date.

The film went on floors last year in Udaipur with one big schedule already wrapped up. It was slated for a July 6, 2018 release date. However, the makers have now revealed the new release date as July 20, 2018, pushing it by two weeks. The film had a solo release on 6th as well and in fact no Bollywood projects have been officially announced for the month of July 2018 as yet. So we wonder what made the makers change the date to this new one.

However, while we will know the reason in time, let this not take our focus away from how lovely both Ishaan and Janhvi are looking in this new poster. The film is the Hindi remake of Marathi film Sairat. It was a heartwrenching, tragic love story that went on to become critically acclaimed and a commercial hit as well. For Dhadak to have the same impact, Ishaan and Janhvi will have to make the audience believe in their onscreen chemistry. From what we have seen in the posters so far and now in this new one, we are sure the two are off to a great start. What do you think?
