Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, fondly known as the He-Man of Indian cinema, has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. The 89-year-old star, who had been under treatment for the past few days, was reportedly shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Monday morning for closer medical observation.
Soon after the news broke, several celebrities and family members were seen visiting the hospital. Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, his wife Hema Malini, and daughter Esha Deol were among the first to arrive. Later in the evening, superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan also reached the hospital to check on the veteran actor’s health. In light of the growing crowd and media presence, police barricades were placed outside Dharmendra’s residence to manage the situation.
A video showing Sunny Deol leaving the hospital has gone viral on social media. The actor appeared visibly worried and tense after meeting his father. His son, Karan Deol, who accompanied him, also seemed emotional. Fans flooded social media with prayers and messages wishing for Dharmendra’s speedy recovery. One user commented, “May God give him strength,” while another wrote, “Praying for his quick recovery.”
Apart from Sunny and Bobby, Shah Rukh Khan was seen arriving at the hospital with his elder son Aryan Khan. Shortly after, Salman Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel were also spotted outside Breach Candy Hospital. Their presence reflected the immense respect and affection the film industry holds for Dharmendra.
Earlier in the day, Hema Malini was seen entering the hospital to inquire about her husband’s health. Later, her daughter Esha Deol joined her. The family has been by the actor’s side since the news of his hospitalisation surfaced.
An industry source informed PTI that Dharmendra’s condition remains delicate but stable. The source said, “His condition is not good, but he is being closely monitored by doctors.” Sunny Deol’s PR team also confirmed the update, stating, “Dharamji is still in the hospital. Doctors have not yet advised him to go home. His condition is improving, and he is under observation. He is not on a ventilator.”
As news of Dharmendra’s health spread, fans from across the country took to social media to express their love and concern for the legendary actor. Many recalled his decades-long contribution to Indian cinema and prayed for his recovery. Dharmendra, who began his career in the early 1960s, has remained one of Bollywood’s most loved stars, known for his humility, strength, and charisma both on and off screen.
