Bollywood is in mourning as the legendary actor Dharmendra, fondly known as the He-Man of Indian cinema, passed away on 24 November 2025. To honor his extraordinary six-decade-long contribution to the film industry, the family organized a prayer meet at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Fans and fellow actors gathered to celebrate his life and pay their final respects to the icon.
The prayer meet, held ahead of the evening service, brought together generations of Bollywood stars, reflecting the immense impact Dharmendra had both on-screen and off-screen. The atmosphere was solemn yet filled with heartfelt memories and tributes.
Dharmendra’s family was among the first to arrive at the prayer meet. His son, Bobby Deol, along with his nephew Abhay Deol and actor Sidharth Malhotra, were present early to honor the late actor. Bobby Deol, visibly emotional, spoke to the media about his father’s warmth, humility, and larger-than-life presence in their lives.
His grandson, Karan Deol, also attended, symbolizing the continuation of Dharmendra’s cinematic legacy through the next generation. The family’s presence set a poignant tone for the gathering, reminding attendees of the personal side of the legendary star.
Among the early celebrity arrivals were Jackie Shroff and Suniel Shetty, both of whom shared fond memories of working with Dharmendra. Their presence highlighted the respect the actor commanded across the industry, spanning actors of different generations.
Veteran actress Rekha also arrived, joining Sharman Joshi and Tiger Shroff to honor the He-Man’s contribution to Indian cinema. Their arrival was a testament to Dharmendra’s enduring influence on actors across genres and eras.
Salman Khan, who shared a close bond with Dharmendra, arrived to pay his respects. The two had a father-son-like relationship, with Dharmendra once referring to Salman as “more like me” because of his fun-loving and cheerful nature. The actor’s emotional connection with Salman was visible as they shared memories at the gathering.
Shah Rukh Khan, accompanied by his family, also attended, reflecting the respect and admiration Dharmendra commanded among Bollywood’s biggest stars. Their presence reinforced the collective sense of loss in the industry.
Malaika Arora arrived with her son Arhaan Khan and sister Amrita Arora, while Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, attended along with their son, Yashvardan Ahuja. Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan were also present, with Abhishek having earlier attended Dharmendra’s last rites with his father, Amitabh Bachchan, and nephew Agastya Nanda.
These arrivals reflected the deep connections Dharmendra had forged throughout his life, both personally and professionally. His colleagues and friends gathered not just to mourn but to celebrate a man whose influence will remain eternal.
Dharmendra’s prayer meet was a heartfelt gathering, celebrating not only his cinematic achievements but also the warmth, generosity, and charisma that endeared him to colleagues, family, and fans alike.
