Dilip Kumar’s family friend Faisal Farooqui, who has been tweeting on behalf of Dilip, confirmed the news on Twitter and wrote, “Allah ka shukr hai @TheDilipKumar Saab hospital se discharge hogaye Aur abhi ghar pohoch gaye hain. Doctors have advised complete rest isolation for few days to prevent infection. Thank you all for your prayers. More updates later. -FF”. Earlier informing about Dilip’s health, Faisal wrote, “Want to inform you @TheDilipKumar has been admitted to hospital last night. He’s being treated for recurrent pneumonia. Praying…will keep you updated on twitter”.
A few days ago, Udaya Tara Nayar, compiler of the Dilip’s autobiography, told IANS,” “He is as well as he can be at his age… He is well looked after by his wife Saira Banu.” Well, we are glad that the actor is back to being normal and wish he continues to so. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai who is close to the senior actor had earlier told IANS, “What he has done for films… He will remain the emperor of cinema because an emperor is the one who is followed by other kings. About 11 Dilip Kumars were born under his reflection, and they have become superstars today. He is an institution in himself”.
Dilip is one of the most respected and talented actors of the Hindi cinema. He has delivered spectacular performances in movies like Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-E-Azam (1960), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Gunga Jamuna (1961) and Devdas (1955). The veteran actor received Padma Bhushan in 1991. He was also honoured with Padma Vibhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Pakistan’s Nishan-e-Imtiaz Award.
Earlier, he got hospitalised due to the kidney infection. Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan visited him and also prayed for his speedy recovery.
