Sometimes, even the biggest stars who are celebrated across continents cannot shield themselves from this. One such similar situation happened recently with Diljit Dosanjh. The man who made Punjabi music echo across the global stage opened up about how he faced racism and stereotypes while performing. However, what stood out wasn’t the hate or criticism; rather, it was Dosanjh’s powerful message of unity and respect that won hearts worldwide.

Diljit Dosanjh on receiving racist comments:

Diljit Dosanjh, who was on a world tour, opened up about his experience. He revealed that when he landed in Australia, paparazzi clicked pictures of him at the airport. However, the comments that followed shocked him.
He said, “Some agencies reported when I landed in Australia. Someone sent me the comments people were making. People said things like, The new Uber driver is here,” or ‘The new 7-11 employee has landed”. I’ve seen a lot of these racist comments, but I think the world should be one, and there should be no borders.”

Despite the criticism, Diljit Dosanjh handled the negative comments with utmost grace and humility.

‘I Don’t Mind Being Compared to a Cab or Truck Driver’

The musician-actor also further said that he doesn’t feel offended by being compared to a cab driver or trucker; in fact, he deeply respects working-class individuals who keep the world running.

“I don’t mind being compared to a cab or truck driver. If truck drivers cease to exist, you won’t get bread for your home. I’m not angry, and my love goes out to everyone, even the ones who say things like that about me,” said Diljit.

Fans were touched by his calm and dignified reaction. One fan commented, “200% right.. I worked as a Security officer on ur Aura night in Sydney! Woooow Dil jitliya mera!! (You won my heart).” Another added, “Respect for you brother.”

Speaking of his work, Diljit continues to juggle his booming music and film career. He was last seen in Sardaar Ji 3 (Punjabi) and Detective Sherdil (Hindi) this year and is currently shooting for Border 2 alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, and Medha Rana.

He recently released his AURA album on October 15 and collaborated with global artist Jackson Wang for the song Buck. Diljit has also sung for Kan
