Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend review: Music the best part of the film?

Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend has a decent album but what about the plot of the film?

Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend’s music album is entirely a hip hop album with good music and some appalling misses as well. Divyendu Sharma as Dhruv, Jackie Shroff as Minocha, Prachi Mishra as Sakshi, Ira Dubey as Nimmy, Pradhuman Singh as Happy and Yo Yo Honey Singh makes a cameo appearance in the film. The film is about an aspiring IAS officer who takes a loan to buy a car to successfully purse the girl he wants. Due to certain factors, he cannot pay the loan back and the car gets seized. His life goes down a spiral form which he can’t get out of and a veteran criminal played by Jackie Shroff just adds to his troubles. Here’s a look at the music of Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend.

Zaalim Dilli

Zaalim Dilli has the title of the film in the lyrics which goes on about the torturous behavior of girlfriends which have to be accepted without cribbing by their insignificant others. Hard Kaur and Jazzy B have a typical desi hip-hop music video setting in a studio with the stars dancing to funky and at times, hilarious, choreography.

The video is shot in a studio with women in skimpy clothes dancing to the tunes of the groovy beats. Hard Kaur and Jazzy B create magic in their style with music given by the one and only Yo Yo Honey Singh. We give it a 4 star rating out of a total of 5 stars. Birthday Bash

Yo Yo Honey Singh sings a tribute of sorts for gold-digging girls. The lyrics go on about a girl who celebrates her birthday up to four times a year and asks guys to pay for the bill. It’s her birthday so she can ask for anything, but she doesn’t reciprocate the feelings to the guys who foot the bill.

The song is a decent party song which almost gets the groove on a party mix song. The lyrics are fun and many people who love going to Goa for a holiday will be able to relate to the song as well.

Tere Liye

Tere Liye has been sung by Indeep Bakshi and it is a soulful and heartbreaking song. The misery of a breakup or betrayal has been captured beautifully in the song. Divyendu Sharma is seen weeping in the music video as Indeep Bakshi pours his heart out to lost love and broken promises.

The music and the lyrics are an integral part of making this a permanent on your playlist. The best part of the music video is probably when the sketch of a girl is made and then burnt when the sudden rush of emotions hits him.

The song soon turns to positive notes as love returns and the music video has some really steamy scenes of Divyendu Sharma and Prachi Mishra only for the harsh reality of being apart hits Divyendu Sharma. Tipsy Hogai

The song as the title suggests is all about getting drunk and doing things that you should regret but don’t. Dr Zeus and Pooja sing this rather odd song with an equally questionable music video which looks like Natalia Kapchuk’s expensive audition tape to be the sexy lady in rap music videos.

Ladies wrestling in the pool and a Rolls Royce for no apparent reason is what the video is all about and the song or music aren’t great. It’s a techno disaster with too much focus on the music video rather than the music. We give it a 1 star rating out of a total of 5 stars.

Japinder Kaur directs the yet to be released Bollywood romantic comedy film with Pyaar Ka Punchnama star Divyendu Sharma, Jackie Shroff and Prachi Mishra among others.
