In a grim situation, actress Disha Patani’s home in Civil Lines, Bareilly was attacked when members of the Goldy Brar gang opened fire at the residence. The attack comes after Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani, criticised religious leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj for his remarks on live-in relationships. Now, in response, Disha’s father has reacted to the firing incident.
Disha and Khushboo’s father, retired CO Jagdish Patani, has now shared his statement on the matter. During a conversation with news agency ANI, he said, “…Khushboo was misrepresented. Her name was dragged into the matter of Premanand Ji Maharaj. We are Sanatanis, and we respect the sadhus and saints. If someone is misrepresenting her statement, it is a conspiracy to demean us…”
In another interview quoted by NDTV, Jagdish shared, “I don’t think anyone has made any indecent remark. If Acharya Ji made a statement on women, then my daughter also made one. Everyone has freedom of speech. But I don’t think anyone would make such a big fuss over it.”
On Facebook, individuals identifying themselves as Virendra Charan and Mahendra Saran posted a lengthy message expressing anger at those who “insult” their saints or Sanatan Dharma.
The firing incident is believed to be a reaction to Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani, criticizing religious leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj over his remarks on live-in relationships.
The message read, “I, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Saran (Delana). Brothers, today the firing that took place at Khushboo Patani / Disha Patani (Bollywood actress)’s house (villa number 40, Civil Lines, Bareilly, U.P.) we had carried out. She had insulted our revered saints (Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj). She tried to demean our Sanatan Dharma.”
