Being a public figure often comes with a price. Behind the glamorous flashing cameras, red carpets, and fans adoring you, there lies a dark reality which can easily bring turmoil in a person’s life – trolling. Living under the shadow of public scrutiny and trolling is nothing new for actors and actresses. Many fall prey to the situation, and actress Avneet Kaur was also one of them. In today’s tech-savvy world, even a single reaction on a social post, a comment, or even a story can cause controversy and bring people into the limelight. Speaking about how trolls can affect a person and what one should be doing in such times, Avneet shared her insights in an exclusive conversation with India.com. She revealed how she manages trolls.
When Avneet was asked that being a public figure comes with a lot of challenges, especially public scrutiny and trolling, how she takes the situation during those times, the actress replied by saying, “See jahan pyaar hai vaha hate toh hogi hi, so it is really important to sometimes talk about it. Me as a person I try to look at the brighter side, and avoid negativity as much as I can. As a person mai kisi ke barey negative bol hi nahi pati hu, mujhse hota hi nahi hai even though if I try. Mujhe khud hi kaafi bura lagne lagta hai inn cheezon mei, ki how will the other person be feeling.”
She further revealed that for her, there still comes a breaking point when these trolls affect her. She said, “Mere liye na ek breaking point aa jata hai ki mere sath aise kyu karte hai log mere saath. I often discuss it with my mother. So that’s why I feel that it is important to talk about it sometimes. I am blessed that I have my mom for that, when I can speak to her, share my feelings with her.”
Avneet also revealed that over the years she has realised that there is hardly anything she can do about these trolls. The Mardaani 2 actress said, “See there is nothing I can do about it except for the hard work which I have done and will continue to do in the future. And I only can follow my passion and my heart which actually makes me happy.”
While the Love in Vietnam actress refrained from speaking anything specific, her statement comes amid her controversy with Virat Kohli. For the unversed, internet users were in for a ride when on April 30, 2025, Avneet Kaur posted a set of pictures in a green crop top and printed wrap skirt via a fan page. Shortly thereafter, Kohli’s verified Instagram handle was spotted liking that post and then quickly unliking it. Screenshots circulated, fans reacted, memes were born, and before long the story was everywhere.
Meanwhile, coming to Avneet’s work front, then the actress is all set to win hearts with her upcoming movie Love in Vietnam. The film also featured Shantanu Maheshwari and will release on September 12, 2025.
