English Vinglish Director Gauri Shinde's Emotional Tweet For Sridevi, 'I Still Refuse To Believe That I Won’t Be Seeing You Next Week'
Bollywood superstar Sridevi, who passed away in Dubai on February 24, 2018, reportedly due to accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub after losing consciousness, was cremated with state honours in Mumbai yesterday (February 28, 2018) at Vile Parle cremation grounds and several celebs from the film fraternity arrived at the venue to pay condolences to the late actress. Among them was filmmaker Gauri Shinde, who shared a close camaraderie with the late actress ever since Sridevi starred in English Vinglish, was responsible for Sridevi’s comeback in Bollywood after 15 years.
Just like us, Gauri Shinde, too is not able to comprehend this loss and the fact that she will no longer be able to see the gorgeous diva on screen. The filmmaker took to her micro-blogging site to share a still from English Vinglish and wrote alongside, “Sri … I still refuse to believe that I won’t be seeing you next week…” Two years ago, Gauri had tweeted about Sridevi saying, “You will always be my first..love. Sridevi B Kapoor. I learnt so much from you. You made me believe in myself and you are the reason I made my second (film). Thank you” [sic] To which the actress had replied, “Thank you so much Gauri Shinde for making me feel good about myself again. I am sure your second one will be better than the first. All the best” Isn’t it sad to see that Gauri will never be able to work with the legendary actress again. ALSO READ: Shah Rukh Khan’s Emotional Tweet On Sridevi Will Melt Your Heart – See Post
If this is how we feel about the loss, it’s unimaginable to think what the late actress’ family must be going through at this hour of grief. After Sridevi’s family issued a statement, Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor too took to Twitter to share one last post from his wife’s Twitter handle. “Losing a friend, wife and mother of your two daughters is a loss inexplicable in words… I am blessed to have the support and love of Arjun and Anshula, who have been such pillars of strength for myself, Khushi and Janhvi. Together, as a family we have tried to face this unbearable loss,” read an excerpt from Boney Kapoor’s letter. Watch this space for further updates.
