Actor Taapsee Pannu has grabbed herself a new-age thriller which looks promising from the word go. In a bog announcement made on Tuesday morning, Taapsee revealed that she has been signed on by Sony Pictures Films India and Ellipsis Entertainment to feature in the official Hindi adaptation of cult German film Run Lola Run. The 1998 thriller film was Germany’s official entry at the Oscars and is one of the most celebrated movies across the world. The film has been given quite a quirky title – Loop Lapeta and the shooting begins in Goa from April this year. In her latest interview with Mumbai Mirror, Taapsee expressed her excitement to be headlining the ‘coolest’ film of her career. She said this adaptation is a ‘quirky, insane addition’ to her repertoire and the story is full of cheeky humour. She was quoted saying, “I love how an iconic film like Run Lola Run has been adapted for the Indian milieu without losing its edge. More excitingly, it’s been laced with amazingly cheeky straight-faced humour. In the original film directed by Tom Tykwer, actors Franka Potente and Moritz Bleibtrey played the lead roles. The story of the film was centred around those 20 minutes that turn Lola’s life into a race against time. The makers of Loop Lapeta spent around three years to adapt the script and mould it as per the Indian audience. Dr Vinay Chhawal and Ketan Pedgaonkar are responsible for writing the script. The film is an exciting addition to Taapsee’s resume of work which already has acclaimed movies like Badla, Pink, Mulk, Saand kK Aankh, Manmarizyaan, Naam Shabana and Thappad which is yet to be released. The actor is also working on Indian cricketer Methal Raj’s biopic titled Shabaash Mithu. She also has Haseen Dillruba with Vikrant Massey and Rashmi Rocket in which she plays the role of an athlete.
