After announcing the rerun of Shaktimaan on DD National, the Press Information Bureau announced that Mukesh Khanna’s Shaktimaan will also be telecast again starting from Wednesday, April 1 at 1 pm. Shaktimaan is touted to be as India’s first superhero show. The announcement was made by the Government of India. The ANI tweet mentioned that the iconic superhero show will be aired at 1 pm for 1-hour daily on DD National Network. Mukesh Khanna played the role of Shaktimaan and his alter ego ‘Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri’, a photographer for the newspaper Aaj Ki Aawaz. Shaktimaan was a human with superpowers. Actor Vaishnavi Mahant featured as Geeta Vishwas, a reporter in love with Shaktimaan. Meanwhile, the cult classic series Chanakya will also be telecast on DD National Network. It is the fictionalised version of the life-history of an economist, strategist and political theorist Chanakya, who was also the royal advisor of King Chandragupta Maurya.

Both Shaktimaan and Chanakya are set to bring nostalgia for the audience, especially for people who grew up in the ’90s and experienced the hysteria getting unfolded around these shows. Both the shows are etched as an important childhood memory of among the kids who were born in the ’90s.
