Exclusive: Ganesh Acharya breaks SILENCE on Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s divorce rumours: ‘I just pray ki…’

In an exclusive interview with india.com, Ganesh Acharya reacted to his 'Godfather' Govinda and Sunita Ahuja's divorce rumours. Read below!

Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have been recently grabbing headlines for their divorce rumours. According to reports, Govinda’s lawyer confirmed that Sunita sent a divorce notice to the actor six months. However, there have been no clarifications yet whether things are fine between the couple. Amid this, choreographer Ganesh Acharya who has collaborated with Govinda in over 150 films, talked about the ongoing speculations regarding actor’s marital life.

Ganesh Acharya, who has choreographed some of the best songs of Govinda, considers him as his ‘Godfather.’ He shares a warm relationship with the actor and his family. When asked Ganesh Acharya about the rumours surrounding Govinda and his wife’s divorce, the choreographer-cum-actor shared that he hasn’t spoken to the couple yet and called these rumours baseless. Moreover, he wishes that something like this never happens with Govinda and his family.

In a conversation with india.com, Ganesh Acharya said, “Main yeh sab rumours main believe nahi karta aur mujhe pasand bhi nahi hai ki main kisi ki personal life pe baat karu. Vo mere bade bhai hai, vo mere Godfather hai aur main iss cheez main janna bhi nahi chahta aur main is cheez main dekhta bhi nahi hun. Even mere saamne koi baat bhi karega toh main ignore karta hun. Jab tak main personally milu nahi, janu nahi, aise toh kitne rumours chalte rehte hai industry main. Main wish karta ho ki aisa kuch na ho is family ke saath. Also, main in cheezo main thoda mumma’s boy hun, main kaam karta hun and I come back home.” (I don’t believe in all these rumours, and I also don’t like talking about anyone’s personal life. He is my elder brother, my Godfather, and I don’t want to know or see anything about such things. Even if someone brings it up in front of me, I ignore it. Until I meet someone personally or get to know them they are always rumours circulating in the industry. I don’t wish anything like this happens with the family. As for me, I’m a bit of a ‘mama’s’ boy- I focus on my work and then come back home.)

While expressing his love for the Coolie No. 1 actor and his family, Ganesh Acharya said, “That family is like my another family. Main bahut pyaar kara hun unko aur main sirf upar wale se dua karta hun, ki vo humesha khush rahe.” (I love them a lot and just pray that they always stay happy). Ganesh Acharya also talked about Govinda’s bullet injury that he suffered last year. The actor accidentally shot his leg while cleaning his licensed revolver. He said that Govinda reassured him that he is completely fine and they will dance together once he is back on his feet.

Ganesh Acharya is the man who has choreographed some of the most popular songs in Bollywood. From Amitabh Bachchan to Madhuri Dixit, he has worked with several superstars and made them groove to his iconic dance steps. Besides this, Ganesh Acharya has acted in 25 films and directed five features.

He will be next seen in Shiv Hare’s directorial Pintu Ki Pappi. The film features newcomers Sushant Thamke, Janya Joshi, and Vidhi, along with seasoned actors Vijay Raaz and Murali Sharma. The film is a romcom based on the story of a young man who realizes that every girl he kisses ends up marrying someone else.
