Exclusive! Sunil Grover Is Not Replacing Elli AvrRam As The Host Of Akshay Kumar’s The Great Indian Laughter Challenge

It was being said that Sunil is returning to TV as the host of an upcoming show, but that's not true, it seems

Fans of Sunil Grover were jumping with joy when they learnt that the comedian is returning to television as the host of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. The same show, which started with Shekhar Suman and Navjot Singh Sidu as judges and gave us comedians like Kapil Sharma, Raju Srivastava, Ehsaan Qureshi and many others. This time the comedy series is coming back with Akshay Kumar as the super boss of the show. They have also revised the same concept of judging by introducing captains, who will mentor mentor and train their respective team members.

Initially, it was Elli AvrRam, who was roped in as the host, but then came the news of Sunil replacing her as a source from the production was quoted by Times Of India as saying, “It’s a laughter show and we have had screen test and rehearsals with our mentors and host Elli. We now feel she doesn’t fit the bill and isn’t able to pull off Hindi as required for the show. We’re now in talks with Sunil Grover and working on dates. So when we got in touch with Elli and asked her if these reports are true, she first laughed it off and refused to open up, as she said, “Maybe we can keep that as a surprise.” When we probed her further, she went quiet for a few seconds, but eventually said, “I don’t even know from where these rumours came. But I think I am hosting it.” So there you are! You have heard it from the horses mouth, as they say.

So now we have the host, the super boss and the captains, which include Zakhir Khan, Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal. The Great Indian Laughter Challenge will go on-air from September end, we hear.
