There are many actresses in the industry who have made a mark with their work in a short span of time. However, there are also many who took years to build a name for themselves but, despite their efforts, they couldn’t reach the level of success they have envisioned for. Today, we will talk about one such actress, who worked in both films and TV industries, but couldn’t achieve the level of recognition she hoped for.

She is none other than Zahida Malik, better known as Veena Malik, a Pakistan actress and TV host, who has predominantly worked in Pakistani and Bollywood films. Born on 26 February, 1976 in  Pakistan to Malik Mohammad Aslam and his wife, Zeenat Mali, Veena completed her education in Rawalpindi.

She started her career in 2000 and worked in both Pakistani and Hindi film Industry. She made her Hindi debut with a comedy film Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai, which failed to perform well at the box office. Later, she starred in several back-to-back flops like Tere Mere Pyar (2000), Yeh Dil Aapka Hua (2002), Kyon Tumse Itna Pyar Hai (2005) and more. Her last Bollywood film was Hemant Madhukar’s Mumbai 125 KM 3D that was released in 2014. Besides, this she also appeared in the fourth season of Bigg Boss, and was considered one of the most controversial contestants on the show.

On the personal front, Veena married Dubai-based businessman Asad Bashir Khan in December 2013, with whom she has two children- son Avram and daughter Ama. However, after few years of marriage, the couple got divorced in 2018. The actress also found herself at the center of controversy when she was accused of faking her marriage to husband Asad. As a result, Pakistani court sentenced the couple to 26 years of imprisonment.

Veena Malik, who took a break from the entertainment industry, has returned and is actively participating in various shows and projects. Well, she is currently working as a news anchor for a Pakistani channel and has also been involved in a lot of social work.
