Days after waiting and thinking over delivering the ration to the daily wage workers in the film industry, FWICE finally decided to make home delivery of the ration kits on Friday, March 4. A report in Mid-Day revealed that the process began by providing the essential items and groceries to the worst-hit junior artistes in the Andheri-Jogeshwari belt of the city. Around 15 days ration and essential items were delivered at their doorsteps in an attempt to help the daily wage earners who have suffered the most due to the nationwide lockdown in India’s fight against the coronavirus. The report quoted FWICE President BN Tiwari saying they couldn’t wait any longer and delivered around 500 kits on Friday. While the door-to-door process has begun, Tiwari is aware that they can’t continue the process every day considering the health risk involved. While talking about the same, he told the daily that FWICE has also dropped a few ration kits at the offices of different associations so that the workers can collect their respective kits from there itself. Around 2 lakh daily wage workers are registered with FWICE who are further part of different associations like Cine Dancer’s Association, Cine Costume, Make-up Artist & Hairdressers’ Association. Tiwari was quoted saying, “We dropped the groceries at the offices of the different associations in the morning. On Thursday, actor Shah Rukh Khan had announced his help to the wager workers in Delhi through a social media post on behalf of his NGO Meer Foundation. Now, FWICE wrote to the superstar asking him to also think of the workers in Mumbai. Tiwari said he has written to the manager of both SRK and Hrithik seeking financial help. He thanked Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty for their financial aids.
