The first photo from the American fantasy drama television series Games of Thrones is out, and it features actors Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington as their characters Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. The picture, which was on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, had a caption in bold ‘End Game’ and showed Daenerys and Jon embracing one another. “It’s about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their own past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death,” co-executive producer Bryan said. “It’s an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honours very much what author George RR Martin set out to do – which is flipping this kind of story on its head,” he stated.

The actors are said to have endured an extremely tiring and demanding 10 months to shoot just six episodes, with the cast and crew obsessed about making every detail of the final as excellent as possible. Kit spoke about how the shooting took so much time.

“It’s relentless; scenes that would have been a one-day shoot five years ago are now a five-day shoot. They want to get it right, they want to shoot everything every single way so they have options,” Kit revealed.

Even Emilia agreed about the length of time being taken to shoot the episodes, saying, “Camera checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper – every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it’. Everything feels more intense.”

Game of Thrones was created by David Benioff and DB Weiss, and it is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George RR Martin’s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The series premiered on HBO in the US on April 17, 2011, and its seventh season ended on August 27, 2017. The series will conclude with its eighth season premiering in 2019.
