Gully Boy First Look : Ranveer Singh And Alia Bhatt Leave Us Curious With Their Pensive Mood

After mesmerising the audiences with his characterization of the menacing and ruthless Alauddin Khilji, Ranveer Singh is all set to play a rapper in Zoya Akhtar‘s next film, Gully Boy. This is the first film in which we will see the versatile actor share screen space with the very talented Alia Bhatt, who too has left the audiences at a loss of words with her phenomenal performances. One can only imagine the magic waiting to be created on screen when these two powerhouse performers come together. Well today, the first look and release date of the film has been bestowed upon us, and we must add, that our excitement for the film has only increased. Both the actors are seen in a pensive mood, leaving us to wonder, what is so grave that’s bothering them.

Alia and Ranveer took to their respective social media accounts to share the first look and release date of the film. The film is all set to release on February 14, ie Valentine’s Day next year. Yes, 2019 and not 2018, so you will have to wait for an entire year to see the magic unfold on screen. Gully Boy is inspired by the rappers from the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai. Ranveer had been attending workshops to learn how to rap, and we can’t wait to see him do so on screen. We bet the actor will leave us in awe, this time as well. While Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of a street rapper, Alia is playing the role of a simple Muslim girl. Not much has been revealed about her role, which is making us intrigued all the more. Previously, in an interview with IANS, Ranveer Singh described Gully Boy as a “great underdog story.” He told the news agency, “This is a story that means a lot to me. To tell a story of the youth from the streets of Mumbai, who live a very tough existence and have a lot of battle to fight and they in the battle of life they come out and triumph. They find their inspiration through music and art. The music that is socially relevant. So, it was important for me to also give a platform to all this new talent.” The film is bankrolled by Farhan Akthar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. Meanwhile, Alia is busy shooting for Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi along with Vicky Kaushal that’s slated to release on May 11 this year, while Ranveer has Kabir Khan’s 83 (Kapil Dev biopic) and Rohit Shetty’s Simmba lined up.
