In what would be called a grim situation, shots were fired outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s house in Civil Lines, Bareilly, late last night, said the Uttar Pradesh police. Authorities confirmed multiple gunshots, including two rounds of aerial firing around 4:30 am. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Now, a Facebook post shared by the profile of the Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar gang has claimed responsibility for the firing.
Taking to Facebook, individuals identifying themselves as Virendra Charan and Mahendra Saran shared a long post where they expressed their anger towards those who “insult” their saints or Sanatan Dharma. The attack comes as a response after Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani, criticised religious leader Aniruddhacharya Maharaj for his remarks on live-in relationships.
The message read, “I, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Saran (Delana). Brothers, today the firing that took place at Khushboo Patani / Disha Patani (Bollywood actress)’s house (villa number 40, Civil Lines, Bareilly, U.P.) we had carried out. She had insulted our revered saints (Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj). She tried to demean our Sanatan Dharma.”
It further added a threat to people who do not respect the Sanatan Dharma, saying they “will not be left alive.” The viral message stated, “The insult of our worshipped deities will not be tolerated. This was just a trailer. If next time she or someone else shows any obscenity toward our religion, we will not leave anyone alive from their house. This message is not only for her but for all the artists of the film world and the people associated with them. Whoever in the future commits any such insulting act regarding our religion and saints, be prepared to face its consequences.”
The message concluded by stating that the people who carried out the attack are willing to go to any extent to protect their religion and will never back down when it comes to their faith and belief.
