Gurucharan Singh Missing Case Major Update: TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s popular character Sodhi played by Gurucharan Singh has been missing since April 22. It has been reported that the actor had a flight to Mumbai from Delhi on April 22 which he didn’t board. Singh’s father lodged a complaint and the Delhi Police registered an FIR under kidnapping case. The team has been checking the CCTV footages and a major lead has come forward. In another CCTV footage, the cops found out that Gurucharan was seen boarding an RTV bus that goes to North Delhi’s Peeragarhi area. As per the reports, Singh withdrew Rs 14,000 from the ATM the same night. Delhi Police will today check the bank account details of Gurucharan so that they can know when and from where the money was withdrawn, according to a Zee News report.
DCP Rohit Meena of South-West Delhi has provided the inaugural official statement to the media regarding the case. In his conversation with news agency ANI, he remarked, “Gurucharan Singh’s family lodged a complaint with us that he left for Mumbai on 22 April at 8:30 PM. He has been missing since then. We have registered a case and are investigating from multiple angles. We are looking for footage and technical investigation and we have even found many vital clues.”
Meanwhile, Delhi Police’s initial investigation into the case revealed that he was soon to get married and faced financial struggles.
Concerns rise among fans and well-wishers of the television star. Singh’s clode friend Soni spoke to Times Now and said, “People are saying he has been kidnapped but there’s no truth to it. The police has also not cleared it and we are in constant touch with them. This is wrong news. He was not well so it is possible that he is lying somewhere unconscious. There’s a lot of negative news coverage about him which is not right for him image. It is being said that he was in depression but that is not the truth again.”
Despite concerted efforts, Gurucharan, aged 50, has neither made it to Mumbai, where he earns his livelihood, nor returned to his residence. His phone remains out of reach. A Delhi Police official assured a swift and thorough investigation, stating, “We are actively investigating the case following the receipt of a complaint.”
