Born on February 25, 1981, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor turns 35 today. Before making his debut in the film industry with Ishq Vishq, Shahid appeared in the Aryans’ music video Aankhon Mein. Kapoor was 20 years old at the time. Soon, Shahid was offered a lead role in N. Chandra’s sex comedy Style but he turned it down.
Director Ken Ghosh, who was developing the teenage romance Ishq Vishk for Ramesh Taurani, was recommended by the latter to cast Kapoor in the lead role. Shahid was extremely lean and underweight for his role so he had to undergo rigorous physical training for a bulkier physical build. Even though his father Pankaj Kapur is an extremely well-known face in the industry, and also a very talented actor, Shahid never took his or any Godfather’s help to enter Bollywood. They dip, very often avoided each other when they accidentally bumped into each other at award functions or fil studios. When Kareena’s husband Saif Ali Khan was on the sets of Jhalak season 8, Shahid was very friendly with him and the duo bonded well on the sets. What’s more? Since it is Shahid’s first birthday with his wife Mira, the latter has planned a surprise for her hubby! A Mid-Day report claims that Mira is going all out to arrange a huge surprise for Shahid, especially considering it’s his first birthday after they tied the knot. Wow!
