Harrison Ford makes $34.7m from ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
The 73-year-old actor, who is also allegedly set to receive 0.5 per cent of the film's gross earnings, is making nearly 76 times more than the newcomers Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, who were both paid 623,000 dollars each.
Melbourne, Dec 21: Harrison Ford, who returned as an older Han Solo in the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ has netted a whopping 34.7 million dollars to reprise his role.
The 73-year-old actor, who is also allegedly set to receive 0.5 per cent of the film’s gross earnings, is making nearly 76 times more than the newcomers Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, who were both paid 623,000 dollars each, News.com.au reported. A Disney source noted that the ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ star, who is the key to making this movie work, is the link between the old generation and the new. “Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were good to get, but the film could have lived without them. You couldn’t make it without Harrison Ford.” The latest installment of the famous franchise, which shattered the US domestic box office record on the weekend, made an estimated A334.4 million dollars in US and Canadian ticket sales and is expected to rake in more than 2.7 billion dollars worldwide.
