Harshvardhan Kapoor‘s debut film, Mirzya might not have impressed the masses and critics alike, but the actor has two films in his kitty and both of them are really interesting. One is of course, Vikram Aditya Motwane’s Bhavesh Joshi, and the other, which he has signed recently is the biopic on Olympic gold medalist, Abhinav Bindra, who won the gold medal in rifle shooting at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. For long time now there were rumours about this biopic, but things are finally official and Kapoor will indeed play the retired professional shooter on the big screen.
The announcement was made by Harshvardhan himself on his Instagram account as she shared a picture with Abhinav with the caption, “Beginnings are very special. Especially when you get to play a character that has made the nation proud on world stage. I am stoked to have been chosen to play #AbhinavBindra and hopefully will do justice to the man, the legend!” Check out Harshvardhan’s post right here:
Harshvardhan had earlier spoke to Mid Day about the biopic. He said, “The biopic is a big responsibility because of the subject matter. It is the most mammoth responsibility I’ve ever shouldered. I roped in Abhay, who wrote the final draft of Bhavesh Joshi, to work on a new draft of the Bindra biopic. We are taking the script into a really exciting place.
