The veteran diva of B-town who is widely known as Dream Girl has turned a year older. She rules millions of hearts even today. She is an ageless beauty. The stunning actress Hema Malini celebrates her 67th birthday today. Born on October 16, 1948 Hema Malini has done numerous Hindi films and most of the time she was paired opposite the man of her life, her husband and veteran actor Dharmendra. The other handsome hunks with whom she was paired with are Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan.
The love story of Hema Malini and Dharmendra is not something hidden to the world. Their on-screen chemistry is spoken even today. Hema made her acting debut in the year 1968 in ‘Sapno Ka Saudagar’. Sapno Ka Saudagar – 1968

Hema Malini made her debut in ‘Sapno Ka Saudagar’ and she won millions of heart with her very first film in Bollywood. The film also starred the biggest names of the industry. The Mahesh Kaul directed movie featured Raj Kapoor Tanuja, David and Nadira. Before Hema Malini, actress Vyjayanthimala was offered the role but since she refused to do it, Hema got the golden chance.
Johny Mera Naam – 1970

The 1970 crime thriller movie ‘Johny Mera Naam’ in which Hema Malini played the character named Rekha became the classic movie of all time. Directed by Vijay Anand, the film featured Dev Anand, Hema Malini and Pran. It also starred Jeevan, Premnath, I. S. Johar and Iftekhar. This blockbuster hit was the highest grossing Bollywood film of 1970.
Sholay – 1975

The classic Ramesh Sippy directorial movie ‘Sholay’ must be the one that no one might have missed. The star cast, dialogues, songs and stunt scenes made this film the best in the history of Indian cinema. Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Amjad Khan and Jaya Bhaduri played a phenomenal role in the film. Satte Pe Satta – 1982

The 1982 released movie ‘Satte pe Satta’ is adapted from 1954 movie ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’. The superstars featured in this action comedy film were Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan, Ranjeeta Kaur, Sachin, Shakti Kapoor, Paintal, Sudhir, Inderjeet, Sarika, Kanwaljit Singh, Prema Narayan, Mac Mohan and Kalpana Iyer amongst others. The song Dilbar Mere is an unforgettable soundtrack that was sung by Kishore Kumar and Annette Pinto.
Baghban – 2003

After doing numerous films, the stunning actress took a long break and she made her comeback in the year 2003 with ‘Bagbhan’. In the film she was paired opposite Amitabh Bachchan. The duo played the lead roles. Hema Malini also earned a Filmfare Best Actress Award nomination.
Hema Malini’ mother was a producer. The actress was the third child of a Tamil-speaking Iyengar family. Hema’s first movie with Dharmendra was ‘Sharafat’ that hit the silver screens in 1970. B-town’s favourite couple Hema and Dharmendra tied the knot in the year 1979 and they have two children, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
