Actor-politician Hema Malini recently paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Bollywood legend Dharmendra, by sharing a special collage video celebrating his films and cherished family moments. The video was created for two prayer meetings she arranged in Delhi and Mathura, honoring the actor’s legacy and timeless appeal.
Sharing the video on her X handle, Hema Malini wrote: “Special tribute to Dharam ji highlighting his evergreen appeal, his charisma, his immense talent and his tremendous, impactful presence in all his movies. This visual tribute was made for the two prayer meetings that I had arranged in Delhi and Mathura… (folded hand emoji).”
The tribute video offers a sweeping look at Dharmendra’s career, from his early films to his later projects like Apne and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Iconic moments are highlighted, including a clip where late actor Dilip Kumar praises Dharmendra at an award function: “Maine jab pehli bar Dharam ko dekha tha to dekhte hi mere dil me umang paid hui ki Allah mujhko aise hi banaya hota to kya hota.” In the clip, an embarrassed Dharmendra touches Dilip Kumar’s feet, while Saira Banu looks on, smiling.
Another poignant moment comes from Apne, where Dharmendra’s voiceover reflects on life: “Zindagi bilkul in barf ke resho hi ki tarah to hai…pal bhar ke liye theharti hai aur pighal jaati hai…par kambhakht jitni der rehtai hai, badi khoobsurat lagti hai…magar ise har haal jana hi to hai.” These words resonate deeply, reminding fans of the actor’s charm, wisdom, and enduring screen presence.
