Richa Chadha to start shooting for biopic on Shakeela soon

Actress Richa Chadha is known for her bold choices and uninhibited roles. The actress is all set to take her game a notch higher by becoming a part of a biopic and bring the story of a real person alive on the big screen. Richa who has wowed us as Bholi Punjaban in Fukrey and Fukrey Returns, will be seen playing the lead role in the biopic on Shakeela. The actress from Kerala acted in several adult films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages and ruled the 1990s. Shakeela was one of the most famous actors from Malayalam cinema who rose to fame with her bold roles in adult rated films.

Richa, who will be playing Shakeela in the film, will start shooting for the same in the coming months. To do justice to her role, the actress has started learning Malayalam in order to get her accent and language correct to maintain the authenticity of the movie and the character she is playing. Sources say, “Richa will be taking Malayalam lessons from a tutor before she starts shooting so as to get the right diction and to justify her character. She is very excited to learn the language and start shooting for this movie.”

Directed by Indrajit Lankesh, the biopic would go on floors in the end of April. Earlier, Vidya Balan successfully portrayed yet another bold actress from the South Indian film industry – Silk Smitha, in The Dirty Picture. Richa is a wonderful actress and we cannot wait to see what she has in store for us in Shakeela. In 2018, Richa was seen in 3 Storeys and is gearing up for the release of Daasdev, directed by Sudhir Mishra. The actress has also been in buzz for her relationship with Fukrey co-star Ali Fazal. The two have been indulging in PDA at red carpet events in India and internationally, setting new couple goals for all their fans.
