Mumbai, Aug 13 : Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar, who recently performed at the Toronto Summer Music Festival, said it was an honour to pay tribute to the late legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan at the event. “Nusrat saab is an icon. He is admired by music lovers across the globe. It was an honour for me to pay tribute to a legendary singer like him in front of a huge crowd,” Ali said in a statement here. During the Toronto Summer Music Festival held on August 11, the 36-year-old singer-composer-actor performed on several songs of the singing icon’s musical journey. He sang popular songs like “Allah hoo”, “Ali maula ali dam dam” and also performed a fusion of some old and new tracks. On work front, the “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” actor will be seen next in Alia Bhatt-Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Dear Zindagi”.

The film also stars Kunal Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Angad Bedi. This movie, which is being jointly produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions, would mark Shinde’s second directorial after the critically and commercially successful “English Vinglish”. It is scheduled for release on November 25.
