Housefull 3 movie review: Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh will tickle your funny bone!

If only you can manage to check your brains at the entrance of the movie hall!

Slapstick comedies in India are best enjoyed when they are loud! And loud this one is! Housefull 3 starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh alongside three beautiful bimbettes (that’s how they should be described given the characters they project) Lisa Haydon, Jacqueline Fernandes and Nargis Fakhri is yet another predictable venture. Laced with jokes on gender biased, handicap and as sensitive an issue as rape galore Housefull 3 manages to make you laugh, in parts. There bottom line is: Take things with a pinch of salt and if the chef (read: the makers) has spoilt the broth, you should not be complaining because you knew what were you signing for before entrance the movie hall! If the couple of things are taken a note of and if your grey matter is checked at the entrance of the movie hall, you are likely to enjoy the third installment of Housefull. Co-written and directed by Sajid Farhad Housefull tells the story of three fools (Akshay, Riteish and Abhsihek) who want to strike gold by employing simple trick: Tying the knot with wealthy women! Boman Irani who is a wealthy businessman in London is the ultimate prospect for his three daughters Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati (Lisa, Jacqueline and Nargis) are the easy targets for the trait s they poses: They are beautiful and absolute blonde (with dark mane of course!) Irani’s Gujrati character (with stereotypes packed to the brim) is under an impression that his daughters are conservative at heart but in reality they are quite the opposite. Irani wants them get married to the men of his choice but the men they have fallen for don’t exactly meet the criteria you see! What follows thereafter is not just predictable but mind-numbingly typical! Thankfully houseful 3 unfolds at a pace that does not exactly test your patience. The one-liners, the antics and gigs keep tumbling out so fast that you tend to forget that you are actually watching a not-so-impressive a film. The first half has some really rib-tickleres while the second half is a bit stretched. The reason why Housefull 3 manages to put a smile across your face lies in its climax where the directors have managed to tie things up really well.  So what exactly works in Housefull’s favour? Well from the scenic locations of London, to peppy numbers and from sassy gals who dominate the screens with their gorgeousness to some crackling one liners. But more than anything else what Housefull 3 proves beyond doubt is the fact that Akshay Kumar is getting better with his comic timing,  even if he happens to be placed in a mad-mad slapstick!
