Over the last few years Marathi movies have surprised audiences with some really unconventional stories. One such film that is all set to release on June 9 is Hrudayantar, directed by fashion designer-turned-director, Vikram Phadnis. This movie had been in news ever since Bollywood heartthrob, Hrithik Roshan, who will be seen in a cameo in the heart-rending drama, tweeted about it last month. Finally, after much anticipation, the trailer of the Marathi film was launched on Sunday, May 28, by the talented Bollywood actor, along with stars Subodh Bhave, Mukta Barve and Sonali Khare, who are the protagonists of the movie. The story is an emotional screenplay of how a couple, who’s going through a marital crisis, set aside their differences to brave their 10-year-old daughter’s tryst with a life-threatening disease. The trailer begins with a very poignant quote, “You never really know the true importance of a moment till it becomes a memory.” Barve, who plays the role of Samaira Joshi (the wife), is seen introducing her 12-year-long “arranged marriage” with her husband, Shekhar Joshi, (Bhave) and her two children, Nitya and Naisha, who mean the world to her. All is not well in their paradise, when the couple, tired with their constant tiffs, decide to call it quits, much against the happiness of their children.
That’s when Nitya, their 10-year-old daughter is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, causing the couple to forget their misunderstandings in order to be with their daughter through this turbulent time. It’s during this tough phase, when they begin to rediscover one another, and appreciate each and every moment of their lives as a family. “I am playing a small part in a very big film. I wish there were dialogues for me in the scene for which I could learn and rehearse. But the part which I have done… is so beautiful and well expressed without a single word that there was no need for any dialogue. So unfortunately, I didn’t get any chance to brush up my Marathi,” he said, according to the news agency’s report. Maniesh Paul is also set to make his Marathi debut in the movie, as seen in the trailer.
