Amid Ranveer Allahbadia’s derogatory remark on the comedy show India’s Got Latent, the comedian Samay Raina issued his very first statement. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Samay said that he would “fully cooperate” with agencies to ensure that the investigation into the matter is conducted in a smooth way.

Taking to X and even on Instagram stories, Samay wrote, “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”

What was Ranveer Allahabadia’s Controversy?

The entire controversy erupted when Ranveer on the comedy show India’s Got Latent, made a controversial joke on ‘parental sex’ that went viral. In the viral video, which has been making rounds on the internet, Ranveer was seen asking a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever.”

As soon as the video went viral, the remark immediately gained attention and sparked a nationwide controversy.

Netizens were outraged by this startling exchange, which many deemed insensitive, offensive, and simply unacceptable. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the I&B Ministry intervened to remove the video from YouTube after it was criticised by prominent politicians, celebrities, and other figures.

Meanwhile, a police complaint was filed against YouTuber Ranveer, Samay, Apoorva, Ashish Chanchlani, and Jaspreet Singh. As per the FIR, all these judges are accused of promoting obscene and sexually explicit content on the show.
