Coronavirus India: Amid the deadly outbreak of Covid-19 in India, the Indian International Film Academy Awards, popularly known as IIFA, has been indefinitely postponed. News agency ANI broke the information and announced that the organisers of one of the biggest Bollywood award ceremonies in India have decided to postpone the event and the same has been communicated to various stars who have been promoting the show. Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Katrina Kaif, Kartik Aaryan and Dia Mirza among others have been actively promoting IIFA Awards 2020 that was scheduled to happen in Madhya Pradesh this year. The MP government, after having a discussion with the faculty of the event, decided to not compromise on the health of the attendees at a time when there’s a high alert due to coronavirus in the country. IIFA 2020 was scheduled to happen in the last weekend of March. The new dates have not been announced yet. This was for the first time that IIFA was being organised in India. The awards ceremony is usually organised aborad with a three-day weekend festivities. It was also that rare year when IIFA was being held in March. The awards ceremony usually happens in May-June.

Meanwhile, as per the latest reports, India has recorded 31 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of now.
