A crane-collapse on the sets of Kamal Haasan‘s Indian 2 took three lives and left many injured. As per reports, a lighting truss attached to a crane, weighing around 100 tons, crashed during the shoot of the film. While Haasan sustained no injuries, the director of the film – Shankar is believed to be injured along with around 10 crew members who are admitted to a hospital nearby.
The banner backing Indian 2, Lyca Productions released an official statement on Thursday morning. In the post made from their official Twitter handle, the team mentioned the name of the three technicians who lost their lives to the tragic incident – Krishna (Assistant Director), Chandran (Art Assistant) and Madhu (Production Assistant).
The full post read: “No words could ease what we truly feel, We are extremely saddended with the unfortunate accident happened at the sets of Indian-2 yesterday (19th Feb 2020). We have lost 3 of our most hardworking technicians: Krishna (Assistant Director), Chandran (Art Assistant), Madhu (Production Assistant). Our deepest condolences to their family members, may their soul rest in peace.” (sic)

People from across the country are expressing shock and offering condolences to the families of the ones who passed away.
